Personal Injury
When a person is injured in an accident someone is often legally responsible. Personal injury is a branch of the law that is aimed at protecting persons harmed by the careless and/or intentional actions of others. The legal system sets out the guidelines for compensating victims who have been injured by such careless actions. We do not represent big business, hospitals, insurance companies or manufacturers. Our one and only focus is our clients who deserve full and fair compensation for their injuries.

Several elements of the claim need to be proven in order to be successful against the wrongdoer or negligent party in a personal injury action (commonly referred to as a “tort”). More than one person may be at fault, and responsibility may be apportioned among all of the wrongdoers. The victim may even be partly at fault for his or her injury, but that does not necessarily mean the person does not have a right to bring a lawsuit. There are even some circumstances where the law presumes liability even when the person or company responsible did not know or understand that their act would cause harm. In Massachusetts, there is a time limitation in place for victims before recovery is barred. Typically, a victim has 3 years from the time of an accident to file a lawsuit against the person accused of causing the harm.
